Mindfulness is simply a practical way to be more in touch with the fullness of your being through a systematic process of self-observation, selfinquiry and mindful action.

Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn is internationally known for his work as a scientist, writer, and meditation teacher engaged in bringing mindfulness into main-stream medicine and society. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Medical School where he was founder and former director of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society, and its world-renowned Stress Reduction Clinic. He is also the vice-chairman of the Mind and Life Institute, a group that organises dialogues between the Dalai Lama and Western scientists.

Dr Kabat-Zinn's work and research interests since 1979 have focused on mind/body interactions for healing; the clinical applications of mindfulness meditation training for people with chronic pain, stress-related disorders, psoriasis, and cancer; the use and effects of mindfulness-based stress-reduction (MBSR) on the brain, emotions and immune system; with prison inmates and staff; in multicultural settings; and on stress in various corporate settings and work environments.

Dr Kabat-Zinn is well known for his best selling books - Full Catastrophe Living and Wherever You Go There Yuo Are: Mindfulness Meditations in Everyday Life; and through the Bill Moyers' PBS special, Healing and the Mind. His most recent book Coming to Our Senses: Healing Ourselves and the World Through Mindfulness was released in 2005.
