Western Australia (WA) — it’s big, beautiful and billions of years old.

WA’s Aboriginal history dates back more than 50,000 years — making it one of the world’s oldest living cultures.

Approximately the size of Western Europe, WA accounts for one-third of the Australian continent. It boasts over 12,500 kilometers of coastline (20,000km including islands), multiple UNESCO world heritage sites, biodiversity hotspots and a host of natural wonders found nowhere else on Earth.

Of the State’s population of 2.7 million people, around three-quarters live in the Perth region. With more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, Perth is Australia’s sunniest capital city. The city’s spectacular natural surroundings are rivaled only by its vibrant city life.

Dreamlike experiences and natural wonders await you in every region of this grand and diverse State, and the varied climate — Mediterranean conditions in the south through to the northern tropics — means you’ll always find summer somewhere in WA.

Discover Fremantle / Walyalup

Fremantle / Walyalup, affectionately known as ‘Freo,’ offers conference attendees a vibrant and culturally rich experience just a 30-minute drive from Perth’s CBD.

This bohemian town is not only filled with art galleries, restaurants, and cafés but also hosts the bustling Fremantle Markets and one of Australia’s first micro-breweries. Savour fresh seafood harborside, dine in historic buildings, or unwind on the beach while watching Indian Ocean sunsets.

Explore Freo intimately on a walking tour with a local guide, passing buskers, performers, and street art. History enthusiasts can visit the WA Maritime Museum and the World Heritage-listed Fremantle Prison.

Outside the city centre, discover gorgeous beaches, walking and cycling trails along the river’s edge, offering a perfect blend of culture, creativity, and cuisine for professional association attendees.

Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island / Wadjemup, affectionately known as ‘Rotto,’ is a serene pocket of paradise that provides conference attendees with endless adventures. Easily accessible by ferry, helicopter, or airplane, this car-free, protected nature reserve offers a unique conference experience.

With 63 stunning beaches, 20 beautiful bays, and abundant marine life, Rottnest Island boasts the world’s happiest marsupial, the adorable quokka. Explore the island’s cultural significance and history on an Aboriginal guided tour, followed by ocean boat cruises to catch your own fresh seafood.

Experience the island by scenic flight, segway, bus, boat, waterbike, or even a glass-bottom kayak. Cycling is a fantastic way to discover the island’s lighthouses, salt lakes, caves, coves and white sandy beaches.

Whether hiking through nature or joining guided snorkeling tours, you will find adventure at every turn. Enjoy dinner and sunset views over Thompson Bay before retiring to luxury, eco-friendly, or glamping accommodations. Live the ‘Rotto life’ for a day or a week, and experience the island getaway of your dreams.

Consider making a longer trip of things, and maybe live like a local for a while, or maybe make your plans to explore all that WA has to offer!
