David is an Academic and Clinical Psychologist. He is the Director of the Perth Emotion and Psychopathology Lab at Curtin University. His main research area is the understanding, assessment, and treatment of emotional disorders or problems (e.g., depression, anxiety, eating disorders, personality disorders, substance use, loneliness). He is particularly interested in the role that emotion regulation and alexithymia (emotional awareness problems) play in psychopathology, and how this can inform the design of more effective CBT treatment approaches. David has published widely in this area, with over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles or book chapters.
David joined the Branch committee in 2020.
