Learn evidence-based tools on how to upskill couples to thrive through the good times using the Gottman Method and how to navigate unexpected loss and grief using Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Grief can feel unpredictable and destabilising. In response to this shock to the couple’s attachment system, partners may become dysregulated, emotionally reactive, distant, or shut down in the days, weeks, months, and years that follow.

You could offer them a supportive space and coping strategies. Or you could help couples shift into the type of emotional balance that allows them to move through grief together — by harnessing the power of attachment science.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) provides a reliable roadmap to tune into clients’ emotions as they grapple with the impact of loss. EFCT takes you to the heart of the matter with clear, structured interventions that will reliably create corrective emotional experiences for your clients in every session.

Sarah will give you a blueprint for working with couples following a significant loss through the lens of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. It will explore the impact of loss and grief from an attachment perspective, looking at how we can use EFT interventions to assist our grieving clients to process their loss together and to grow from suffering.

Two alternative couples therapy concepts will be presented in this interactive Masterclass. Tim will talk to the Gottman Method and research, proudly leaning on more than 40 years of scientific evidence.
