Associate Professor Jill Newby completed her Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of New South Wales in 2011. After she completed her PhD, Jill worked as a Clinical Psychologist at the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD) at St Vincent’s Hospital (2011-2012), before moving to Cambridge, United Kingdom where she worked as an Investigator Scientist at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (2012-2013). After returning to Australia, Jill worked at CRUfAD (2013-2016), and then UNSW School of Psychology as a Lecturer on the Clinical Masters program (2016-2019). She is now based at the Black Dog Institute and UNSW. Her clinical work specialises in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. She conducts clinical research into the treatment of anxiety and depression, with a focus on health anxiety, transdiagnostic interventions, and digital interventions (eg apps, online programs, and virtual reality).


Jill began with the Branch Committee in 2016.
