AACBT Qld Pub Discussion: Neuropsychotherapy – The future in psychological treatment?
- Anette Renneflott
Pub Discussion
Dr Anette Renneflott will be presenting a pub discussion about “Neuropsychotherapy – The future in psychological treatment?”.
Learn about this integrative approach to therapy that takes into account the dynamic interplay between the mind, body, social interaction, and the environment on a person’s well-being with a focus on neuroscientific research.
Regardless of your theoretical orientation, Neuropsychotherapy (NPT) promotes a greater depth of knowledge in the workings of the brain and other aspects of human biology to enhance the therapeutic practice of all psychotherapists. The practice of NPT is a mode of working with clients to address a wide range of psychological and physiological difficulties through awareness of how neural processes are linked to feeling states and perceptions.
You will hear about how to:
- Raise client awareness and enhance client’s control over their perceptual, cognitive and hormonal systems and work with the client to down-regulate the psychological and physiological symptoms of distress.
- Understand how the client’s neurobiology and perception can affect your therapeutic effectiveness.
- Understand the mechanisms of neurobiology, psychological processes, and the influences of social interaction, to formulate a maximally effective therapeutic practice.
A pub discussion is a relaxed opportunity to observe a presentation on an interesting topic regarding cognitive behavioural therapy. There are opportunities for the willing to engage in a discussion relating to the topic towards the end of the presentation.
Registration 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start @ The Norman Hotel, 102 Ipswich Road (Enter by Qualtrough St).
