Pub Discussion

Dr Jan Parr & Dr Vanessa Winchester will be presenting “Working with Drug and Alcohol in Private Practice”.

Come to this discussion to learn about addressing alcohol and tobacco use in community and private practice from two experienced clinicians.

Individuals with a mental health issue are more likely to use alcohol and tobacco, however the extent to which these issues are addressed in community and private practice is difficult to assess.

This presentation will provide the opportunity to discuss clinician experiences of clients with these issues, including a case study and some strategies for addressing these issues.

Dr Jan Parr is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice and previously worked for 20 years in the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service.

Dr Vanessa Winchester is a Clinical Psychologist employed by Queensland Health Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service and also works in private practice.

A pub discussion is a relaxed opportunity to observe a presentation on an interesting topic related to cognitive behavioural therapy. There are opportunities for the willing to engage in a discussion relating to the topic towards the end of the presentation.

Registration 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start @ The Norman Hotel, 102 Ipswich Road (Enter by Qualtrough St).
