Coogee is a beachside suburb to the south east of Sydney CBD. Coogee is popular with surfers but also has safe swimming spots. If you have time, be sure to do the 6km Coogee to Bondi coastal walk which takes in stunning views of beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools. To satisfy your hunger, why not visit one of the many cafes and restaurants along the beach front and high street.
Weather in Sydney in October
Spring in Sydney is warm with an average of 18°C in the daytime. Days are long, however there is potential for rain. When packing, be sure to include sun protection as temperatures can be as high as 24°C on the warmest days. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and packing a jacket as the evenings could be cooler.
Travel
Getting to Coogee
Train and bus – 40 minutes, $20*
Take the train from Sydney airport – T2 towards the city. Get off at Green Square (2/3 stops) and take bus 370 towards Coogee. You will need an Opal card which you can purchase from Sydney Airport train station before you travel.
Taxi
Each terminal has its own sheltered taxi rank with supervisors during peak times to ensure a smooth flow of taxis for travellers. A taxi to Coogee takes approximately 15 – 25mins and will cost on average between $30 and $40*.
